Login & Access Issues

Troubleshooting solutions for account sign-in failures, QR code login errors, password resets, and account deletion blockages.

Find step-by-step solutions for account sign-in failures, password resets, QR code mobile authentication errors, and account deletion prerequisites.

🔐 Sign-In & Authentication Troubles

Issue 1: "Cannot delete account: You are an owner of one or more organizations"

  • Symptom: Clicking Delete Account on your profile displays a warning message blocking deletion.
  • Cause: Algus requires organization owners to resolve company ownership before deleting their personal account to prevent leaving workspaces without an administrator.
  • Solution:
    1. Go to the Delete Account page on your profile.
    2. Under Your Organizations, click Change Ownership next to each owned organization to transfer owner status to a teammate.
    3. Alternatively, click Delete Organization if the workspace is no longer required.
    4. Once ownership is resolved, complete account deletion.

Issue 2: Scanning QR Code on mobile displays "Invalid or expired QR code"

  • Symptom: Pointing your phone camera at the computer screen shows an authentication error on mobile.
  • Cause: The login QR code token on your computer screen expired or was generated from an inactive web session.
  • Solution:
    1. Refresh your web browser page on your computer.
    2. Navigate to My Profile and click Show QR Login Code to display a fresh QR code.
    3. Open the mobile app, tap Scan QR Code, and scan the new code immediately.

Issue 3: Team member is locked out after forgetting their password

  • Symptom: A user cannot log into the web portal or mobile app due to lost password credentials.
  • Cause: Repeated incorrect password attempts or forgotten login credentials.
  • Solution:
    1. An administrator opens SettingsUser ManagementUsers.
    2. Locate the user's row in the table and click the key icon (Reset Password).
    3. Enter a new temporary password, click Save, and share the password securely with the employee.

!TIPSSO Organizations: If your company uses Single Sign-On (SSO), users must reset their passwords directly through your corporate IT identity portal (e.g., Microsoft or Okta) rather than through Algus.
