Inspections Overview & Navigation
Learn how to access, navigate, and manage inspections across the Web Application and Mobile App.
What is an Inspection?
In Algus, an Inspection represents the execution of a published Template. While a template serves as the master blueprint, an inspection is the completed or in-progress document containing dynamic responses, photo attachments, GPS locations, electronic signatures, and calculated scores.
Inspections are the core operational data-gathering mechanism in Algus, utilized for safety audits, quality assurance, equipment checks, and site compliance reviews.
The Inspection Lifecycle
Every inspection transitions through three core lifecycle stages:
- Started / Scheduled: An inspection is initiated manually by an inspector or generated automatically by a schedule.
- In Progress / Draft: The inspector answers questions, captures photos, and fills in data. Draft responses are continuously auto-saved (and cached locally on mobile for offline operation).
- Completed: The inspector finalizes and submits the form, generating an immutable record available for reporting and analytics.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Who can view completed inspection reports?
All users assigned to the site or template, site administrators, and managers with inspection viewing permissions can access completed inspection reports.
Does deleting an incomplete draft inspection affect historical reporting?
No. Deleting an incomplete draft simply cancels that draft session. Historical completed inspections and audit logs remain intact.
