Generate and manage QR codes on the Web platform to launch instant inspections upon scanning.
What are Template QR Codes?
Template QR Codes enable instant access to inspection forms. Administrators can generate and print QR codes to place at physical sites and locations.
Scanning a printed QR code with any standard smartphone camera automatically opens the web inspection flow in the browser and launches a new inspection instantly for that template.
Platform Note: QR code generation and management is available exclusively on the Web Application.
Generating QR Codes
You can create multiple distinct QR codes for a single template (e.g., individual QR codes for different sites or language preferences).
How to Generate a QR Code:
- Navigate to Templates in the main menu.
- Find the desired template and click the Options menu (three dots).
- Select Generate QR Code.
- Configure the QR code parameters:
- Site Assignment (Optional): Select a specific Site. Inspections created via this QR code will automatically be assigned to that designated site.
- Language Configuration: Select one or more supported languages (e.g., English, Arabic).
- Click Generate and download the printable QR code image.
Language Selection Rules
When generating a QR code, you can pre-configure language availability for inspectors:
- Single Language Selected: When a user scans the QR code, the web inspection automatically opens in that pre-selected language without prompting.
- Multiple Languages Selected: Upon scanning, the user is presented with a language selection screen allowing them to choose their preferred language (e.g. English vs. Arabic) before beginning the inspection.
Scanning & Conducting Inspections
- Scan the physical QR code using any smartphone or tablet camera.
- The browser automatically navigates to the web inspection interface.
- The inspection form initializes instantly with pre-filled site data and the chosen language.
- The user completes and submits the inspection directly through the web form.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Does scanning a QR code require the inspector to have an Algus account?
It depends on the template's access configuration. If the template is set to Public, anonymous guests can scan and fill out the inspection directly. If the template is Private (Restricted), scanning it will prompt the user to log into their Algus account to verify their access permissions first.
If I publish a new version of the template, do I need to print and replace my physical QR codes?
No. The QR code points directly to the template's system ID. When scanned, it always automatically launches the latest published version of that template, eliminating the need to reprint physical labels when updates are made.
